Terri Warpinski

Under Settlement (Hebron), from the series: Surface Tension: Israel/Palestine, 2012

archival pigment print

From a home base in Oregon, Terri Warpinski has travelled the world to pursue her creative practice. She is a Professor of Art at the University of Oregon and was a Fulbright Scholar in Israel 2000-2001. Warpinski creates imagery that reflects her reverence for the natural environment and her interest in the traces of human connection embedded in the landscape. Surface Tension, a six-year project involving three border zones - the Israel-Palestine Border, the US-Mexico border, and the former Berlin wall - explores the multiple and conflicted perspectives that complicate these places and questions the ethics of conflict through an open-ended narrative.
