Two Skulls Struggle Over an Alchemical Text, 2018 cyanotype image 5x4
Randall Tosh received his MFA from the
University of Oregon in 1981. He has long been fascinated with the work
of the earliest photographic pioneers, and has worked with antique
process throughout his career. His most recent work is series of
narrative still lives, made with Darlot lens ground sometime in the
1860s, captured as traditional 4x5” silver negatives, and
contact-printed as cyanotypes. His work has been exhibited widely, both
regionally and nationally, including the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of
Art, the Rourke Museum of Art, and the Griffin Museum of Photography.
He currently lives in Salem, Oregon.
