| Photographer and publication designer George Beltran writes, "the beauty of a photograph evokes an intimate invitation for the viewer to get closer, to hold the image. I don't know that my pictures do this but it's something to strive for." Dorthea Lange, he continues, "once said, 'The closer for me.' She meant herself as photographer. I take the message as viewer as well. I take pictures and hope they invite the viewer to take part in this intimacy." Beltran serves on the PAO board and is one of its original members. He likes to drink wine with his wife, Christy, at LaVelle. |
