Cuba - Sky and Water, 2015
Fujicolor Crystal Archive print
Photography, to some degree, is always about our relationship to time. While the content of my photography is always changing, I have always been fascinated with how the passage of time becomes a physical characteristic, most visibly in things that are discarded or forgotten. A trip to Cuba at the end of 2015 became an opportunity to examine this, contrasting the vitality and openness of the people I encountered with the decay of the landscape they inhabit, as both stand at the end of one era and the beginning of another. |
