Eugene's own, Noble Prize-winning Brian Lanker was an enormously versatile photojournalist whose lens never failed to reveal the human story, whether at sporting venues, town hall meetings or intimate family events. His magisterial portfolio of famous African-American women, I Dream a World: Portraits of Black Women Who Changed America, is perhaps the best example of the underlying humanism and compassion that pervades Lanker's extensive body of work. |
