Rebecca Zeiss hails from Midland,
Michigan. She received her BFA from the University of Michigan and her
MFA in photography from Central Michigan University. She is now
teaching photography at the University of Michigan-Flint. Ms. Zeiss’
photographic work is frequently black-and-white large format and uses
object images with a window into looking. Her work ranges from large
14-foot elongated vertical panels printed dual sided on translucent
Japanese Kozo paper to images printed on aluminum and many alternative
process techniques. The image work engages the viewer in a shared
venerability and references the collective conscious. Her work is shown
internationally and has been selected for exhibitions by jurors such as
Jill Enfield, Robert Hirsch, S. Gayle Stevens and Deborah Willis.
