For over thirty years, Greg MacGregor has been photographing the Great Basin area of the American west. Taken together, his portfolios and photo books revisiting the routes of The Lewis and Clark expedition, the Oregon Trail, The Mormon Trail, and The California Emigrant Trail are penetrating reflections on the region's culture and history. MacGregor is professor Emeritus of Photography at California State University, East Bay. An advocate for fine art photography and education, he has served on many boards and faculties.
