Photography became an early interest of
mine, using a cheap instamatic ordered from the back of a cereal box.
Raised in the Midwest, I moved to Colorado to complete a Bachelor of
Arts combining Sociology, English and Fine Arts into a distributive
degree. During the next few years in San Diego, work as a docent for
the Museum of Photographic Arts added substantially to my understanding
of the medium. In 1986 I moved to Portland, Oregon and continued work
in photography as an artist and as a volunteer at Blue Sky Gallery.
I work with both film and a digital camera, exploring environments and
ordering the world through a lens. My work has been exhibited in local
galleries and museums, as well as outside the state. Images are held in
both private and public collections.
