George Olson, now on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Center for Photography in Portland, Oregon, is the former director of Photography of Sunset magazine, and he began his career as a newspaper photographer, then moved to San Francisco in 1977 where he was based as a freelancer. He has shot for many different publications, including National Geographic, Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, Smithsonian and The New York Times, and had many corporate clients as well.
