A retired photography and journalism instructor, Rich has spent the past three decades chronicling the disappearing traces of Oregon's bygone days with large-format, digital and pinhole cameras. He is currently exhibiting work from his High Desert Homesteads series at the National Oregon Trail Interpretive Center in Baker City through November 30. The print and book offered for this year's PAO Auction are from that exhibit. Rich has served as artist-in-residence at the Sitka Center for Art & Ecology, the Crossroads Carnegie Center in Baker City, and at Playa on Summer Lake in Eastern Oregon.
