| This image "Monument Valley Sheer Wall" was taken in May, 2012. I was on vacation for the first time in several years. The two week sojourn covered the southern Utah National and State Parks. I visited 14 parks in all. With a slight fudge, I found myself in Colorado in Mesa Verde and Arizona in Monument Valley.
I had a truly knowledgeable guide in Perry, a Navaho native, who took me to the farthest recesses of Monument Valley to find some surprising places not usually shown to the average visitor. This image is from one of those places. I have been teaching for 25 years at Webster University in St. Louis, MO and specialize in the History of Photography. |
