Untitled 1, from the series Blandscapes, 2012

archival inkjet print

image 14 x 9

Photography for me is the simple pleasure in seeing. My problem is that my view is always conditioned by recognition rather than perception. A "blandscape" is an effort in forgetting what I know and photographing shapes without recognition. Close to impossible, but I keep looking. The images for this series were all taken this year chosen for their flat graphic plane.
