In 1990, Cary, North Carolina resident Joe Lipka was
awarded an Emerging Artist Grant from the City of Raleigh
and the Joseph Fletcher Foundation to teach himself the
19th-century process of platinum printing. More recently, he
has been working with Photoshop software to digitally
enlarge negatives for platinum printing.
